A leading global law firm are seeking a Knowledge Development Lawyer to join their Employment team in London. You will join the friendly and ambitious Employment Team who are well regarded and recognised in the Legal 500. The team act predominantly for employers but are also well recognised for their senior executive practice. Clients include multinationals, public and private UK and overseas companies, partnerships, funds, unincorporated associations and charities. Many of our clients are household names. The team is expert in, and active across, multiple sectors including finance, professional services, life sciences, technology, transport, luxury goods and the creative arts. The team covers the three main areas of employment law practice: HR/legal advisory, litigation (both Tribunal and High Court) and transactions.

Responsibilities in the role:

  • Working collaboratively with the employment team keeping them up to date with legal and market developments through training, organising team meetings, preparing current awareness updates and responding to technical queries and creating guidance notes and precedents.
  • Representing the team and firm in external professional networks and activities.
  • Administering and leading the team's weekly know-how meetings and helping to maintain user-friendly know-how banks.
  • Supporting the fee-earners legal research and internal resources.
  • Developing and maintaining key precedents.
  • Working closely with the Business Development team and drafting legal updates and briefings, planning and coordinating seminars and preparing materials for presentations.
  • Supporting the BD team with maintaining the technical content of the team's intranet pages and social media presence.
  • Participating in regular meetings of the firm's global KDLs, coordinating with other practice groups.
  • Rolling out new AI-driven and other know-how systems and tools.

Candidate background:

You will be an experienced lawyer with at least 8 years PQE, either a PSL/KDL or someone in a fee-earning or in-house role. You must have a solid technical understanding of employment law. You must have excellent communication skills and strong analytical and research skills. You should have the ability to quickly develop your own networks and use them effectively. It is essential you have commercial awareness, financial acumen and a business-like approach to legal practice. You must have the desire and ability to be involved in using technology to improve processes and drive efficiency.
