Type: Term Time only, Permanent (45 weeks at 37.5 hours)
Salary: £24,000 - £31,000 dependent on experience (Full Time Equivalent is £27,000 - £36,000)
We are seeking a Vocational and Employability Tutor who will play a vital role in mentoring and supporting learners, particularly those with additional needs (SEN / SEND). This is a rewarding opportunity to help young people build confidence, overcome barriers, and achieve their full potential.
Duties:
- Deliver high quality learning programmes to include; Employability Skills, Personal and Social Development, Maths and English and a Vocational certificate/qualification pathway at entry level to level 2.
- Deliver to small groups of learners onsite.
- Work closely with learners to create and update individual learning plans in line with individual and EHCP targets.
- Ensure each learner receives a robust initial assessment in order to inform and update the ILP and RARPA framework.
- Ensure all students receive relevant work experience in line with their planned programme of learning.
- Build good relationships with learners offering support, advice and guidance throughout their learning journey.
Essential Criteria:
- Hold a level 3 Teaching qualification as a minimum such as AET/PTLLS
- Hold a Level 2 in Maths and English – Functional Skills equivalent
- Experience of supporting and delivering training to young people who have experienced barriers to their lives and education.
- Knowledge and understanding of the multiple barriers young people face and be able to develop support mechanisms/interventions.
- Experience of delivering Functional Skills Maths and English.
