Supporting a father's time with his children – home & community based. This role is located in Hungerford, RG17 area and is based at the client’s home.

Hourly Rate: weekday rate £18.00 per hour, Weekend rate £20 per hour and sleep in £60 per night.

We are recruiting a Family Facilitator to support a client with an acquired brain injury during his contact time with his two children. This is a rewarding, person-centred role at the heart of a close-knit care team, giving a father the support he needs to enjoy quality, meaningful time with his girls.

This role is separate from our client's existing Support Worker team and is focused specifically on facilitating contact and family time – it is not a general support-work position.

Hours: Wednesdays and Thursdays, 2:00pm–7:00pm, plus alternate weekends (Saturday 9:00am–10:00pm waking day, Saturday 10:00pm–6:00am sleeping night, and Sunday 6:00am–12:00pm) – averaging around 29–29.5 hours per week.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supervising and supporting safe, enjoyable contact sessions between the client and his children.
  • Supporting the client to plan and lead activities during his time with his children.
  • Helping with meals, light domestic tasks, and day-to-day routines during shifts.
  • Accompanying the client and children to appointments, outings and occasional weekend trips.
  • Working collaboratively with the client’s therapy team and wider care team, following agreed guidance relevant to your role.
  • Keeping accurate records and keeping Case Management informed of wellbeing or any concerns.
  • Supporting regular, predictable contact with minimal disruption, working flexibly around agreed schedules.
  • Sleeping night shifts on-site as required.

What we’re looking for:

  • A dynamic, proactive and energetic person who loves getting stuck into activities and days out, rather than sitting on the sidelines.
  • Someone who can build a genuinely warm, friendly rapport with the client and become someone he enjoys spending time with and encouraging and motivating him to make the most of his time with his children.
  • Experience supporting people with brain injury, disability, or complex family circumstances (desirable, not essential).
  • A warm, person-centred approach and genuine passion for working with children and families.
  • Strong professional boundaries, autonomy and impartiality; this role requires sensitivity to a family context where the client’s parents are separated, and the ability to remain neutral and professional with everyone involved.
  • Emotional resilience, dependability and flexibility to accommodate short-notice changes.
  • Confidence to problem-solve, manage conflict calmly, and know when to seek support.
  • Willingness to work flexibly, including waking-day shifts and occasional overnight stays.

As part of our selection process, shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a short recorded video interview (around 10–15 minutes) so the client can be involved in choosing the right fit for his family. KMHR Solutions Limited is committed to safeguarding, and all appointments are subject to safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
