Are you an experienced Support Worker or Rehabilitation Assistant with a passion for helping others live life to the fullest? We’re looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and motivated female support workers to join a friendly, long-standing care team supporting a gentleman with a brain injury in Heathfield, East Sussex.
The Role:
You’ll support “Jack,” a 54-year-old family man, at home and in the community. Jack sustained a traumatic brain injury and complex physical injuries 7 years ago. He’s a wheelchair user, Type 1 Diabetic, and requires structured, step-by-step support to live a full, independent life. He enjoys movies, gardening, gym, swimming, carpentry, and spending time with his family. Your role will include personal care, mobility support, rehabilitation assistance, community outings, and encouraging Jack’s independence and routine.
Shifts Available:
- Day Shifts: 7.45am – 8.00pm
- Sleep-in Night Shifts: 7.45pm – 8.00am
- Flexible shifts Monday to Sunday
Pay Rates (Gross):
- £17.00 per hour – Weekdays
- £19.00 per hour – Weekends
- £21.00 per hour – Bank Holidays
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience supporting individuals with a brain injury or neurological condition (e.g., stroke, spinal injury)
- Experience with manual handling and community-based care
- Confident, friendly, and proactive with a great sense of humour
- A female applicant (as permitted under Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010)
- A driver with your own car – essential due to rural location
- Willingness to use Jack’s automatic WAV vehicle during shifts
- Comfortable around pets – the family has two dogs
