The Commercial Industries and Access School at Kingston College is seeking a professionally accredited registered psychotherapist and/or counsellor who holds a supervisor training certificate. The School requires a qualified practitioner to teach on our L4 Therapeutic Counselling Year 1 (Tuesday) and Year 2 (Thursday). We also require teaching on our Degree programme (Friday).
You’ll take responsibility for teaching, marking, and providing tutorial support for Counselling courses, and you’ll contribute to all aspects of the work of the Section/School. This will include occasional \’out of hours\’ activities such as selection days, interviews, and open events.
As our Lecturer, you should hold a professional qualification to practise in Integrative Relational counselling or Psychotherapy, or Children & young people (minimum L6 Honours Degree). You must be a practising member/registrant of BACP, UKCP, NCPS (or an equivalent UK professional body), with 3 years’ post-qualification experience, and have accreditation or be willing to gain it.
You should hold a teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards one) and a supervision qualification, or have experience providing supervision to groups or individuals in a counselling or life coaching setting. With at least one year’s experience teaching counselling at Level 3 or above, or a similar level, you should be capable of assessing students’ work/skills practice and be familiar with national educational standards and BACP and awarding/validating body requirements for the appropriate level.
The successful candidate will be eligible for any salary increase resulting from the annual cost of living review implemented in the new academic year.
This post will primarily involve teaching across all levels from Monday to Friday, with hours on variable contracts.
