We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Mechanic / Master Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical expertise, a strong understanding of modern motor mechanics and the ability to perform complex repairs and maintenance tasks. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a professional looking to utilise their technical skills in a dynamic environment, ensuring the workshop operates efficiently and reliably and servicing and repairs are carried out to a high standard.
Duties
- Diagnose faults and perform repairs on a wide range of vehicles using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns and optimise vehicle performance.
- Assemble, disassemble, and modify mechanical components with precision using hand tools and power tools.
- Repair or replace defective parts, including engine components when necessary.
- Interpret technical drawings and schematics to facilitate accurate repairs and modifications.
- Perform heavy lifting safely when handling large or cumbersome parts or equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts utilised using job cards / tablet.
- Assist with the installation of new mechanical parts in accordance with manufacturer & safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair needs and timelines.
Skills
- Proficient in reading and interpreting schematics and technical diagrams.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems and vehicle types.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and repair techniques.
- Experience in equipment, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and work processes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to repair and maintenance.
This role requires a dedicated professional with a passion for mechanics, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to quality workmanship. Candidates should be organised, safety-conscious, and eager to contribute their expertise within a collaborative team environment. Level 3 preferred but not essential (Experience is equally as important). A qualification in MOT testing would be a bonus.
