At Klyk, we are building the world’s first AI-Enabled IT Operating System for modern, high-growth businesses. Our mission is simple yet radical: to remove both friction and waste from IT operations entirely, keeping growing teams in their creative flow—and electronic waste out of landfills. By packaging our deep IT expertise into a powerful, scalable SaaS stack that lives natively inside Slack and MS Teams, we automate and resolve employee IT issues instantly right where they already work.
We are already a proud Certified B Corp trusted by some of the UK’s most impactful and high-growth organisations. With our AI service desk app live in Beta and an eager pipeline of pilot customers waiting to deploy right now, we are actively looking to scale our sustainable, automation-powered ecosystem. But what truly drives us is a deeply human mission: we are working to eradicate digital poverty. We believe that access to technology is a fundamental right, yet millions of young people remain locked out of the digital world. Every cycle of hardware we manage feeds directly into this goal—we refurbish and donate high-quality devices to children living below the digital poverty line.
The Role — Senior Founding Engineer
We’re looking for a Senior Founding Engineer with strong full-stack experience to build and shape the Klyk platform from zero-to-one. This is a foundational position with significant autonomy. Joining as our second founding software engineer, you will work directly alongside our first founding engineer and Ali Sarraf (Cofounder & CPTO) to take our Beta product to the next level, scale our systems, and build out core features for our pilot pipeline. As an early technical hire, you will influence everything from architecture and tooling to engineering culture and long-term product direction. Expect variety, ownership, and the opportunity to help define how a modern, sustainable IT platform should work. This role suits someone who thrives in early-stage environments, enjoys solving ambiguous problems, and wants to work on meaningful technology that has both business and environmental impact.
Location: Our office in London, Acton (with a hybrid working culture)
Start: ASAP
What You’ll Do
- Build the Core Platform
- Design and implement foundational features across our internal and customer-facing tools.
- Build systems that improve operational efficiency, elevate customer experience, and support our sustainability mission.
- Help define our technical strategy, architecture, and best practices.
- Work closely with Support, Ops, Cyber, Sales, and Leadership to understand pain points and opportunities.
- Translate real business needs into simple, scalable products and internal workflows.
- Contribute to a unified, forward-looking platform that connects all parts of the business.
- Help shape the product roadmap with a builder’s mindset as we transition from Beta to full market launch.
- Own projects end-to-end — from the user-facing Slack/Teams integrations to back-end AI workflows.
- Bring creativity, technical insight, and initiative to everything we build.
- Identify inefficiencies in our internal systems and design better ways of working.
- Evaluate and integrate third-party tools to enhance performance and scale.
- Use AI and automation thoughtfully to streamline operations and support the business.
Requirements:
- Have 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong, proven track record across the full stack.
- Have strong experience in TypeScript.
- Possess a strong track record of solving difficult problems in either an academic or industrial setting.

- Have experience working with cloud infrastructure providers and database technologies.
- Are excited by zero-to-one building, high ownership, and working closely with a small, high-velocity founding team.
- Can work seamlessly across the stack and learn quickly in unfamiliar areas.
- Enjoy turning loosely defined problems into clear, practical solutions.
- Communicate clearly in writing and async, and value collaboration.
- Care about sustainability and want your work to have real-world impact.
- Are comfortable in fast-moving, unstructured environments and are based in, or willing to relocate to, London.
Nice-to-haves (none required):
- Have experience building Slack and Teams applications.
- Experience in IT systems, or cybersecurity.
- Experience with Nest.js.
- Experience in device lifecycle management or IT support.
