Second Chef – Full Time Permanent
Location: High Legh Garden Centre, West Kilbride, Scotland, United Kingdom.
Competitive salary based on experience.
Hours: 45 hours over 5 days. All positions include weekend working. No evening work, no split shifts. Centre closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day.
The Role
As a Second Chef, you will support the Head Chef in the operation of all areas of food production and cleaning in the kitchen. You will work as part of a small team under the guidance of the Head Chef and be responsible for the preparation of our fresh ingredients for our full menu range.
Responsibilities
- Prepare fresh ingredients
- Prepare hot and cold food orders to order
- Monitor stock levels and contribute towards the ordering process
- Work efficiently to ensure low levels of waste
- Carry out cleaning of equipment and working areas to the highest food hygiene standards
- Close down kitchen each day including preparation for the following day
