We’re seeking a NSW Lead – Hydrogeology to grow, guide, and shape our Newcastle geoscience capability. In this role, you’ll lead and deliver projects, define technical approaches, ensure quality, mentor emerging talent, and help expand our presence in NSW. What you will do:
- Lead and review complex hydrogeological studies, including conceptualisation, geological and hydrogeological interpretation, and development of management strategies.
- Provide senior technical input into assessments for dewatering, aquifer injection, contaminant hydrogeology, groundwater modelling, and groundwater management plans.
- Lead or supervise analytical and numerical modelling for groundwater systems, including those associated with WRDs, TSFs, and major infrastructure.
- Direct field programs (drilling, aquifer testing, sampling, mapping, contractor oversight) and ensure robust data collection and interpretation.
- Oversee preparation of high‑quality technical deliverables, reports, and proposals.
- Provide technical assurance and mentoring to junior and mid‑level hydrogeologists.
- Build strong client relationships and support BD efforts to expand our NSW project portfolio.
- Support project managers and collaborate with our multidisciplinary team across geoscience and engineering.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, or Geoscience (post‑graduate qualification preferred).
- 15+ years’ hydrogeology experience across fieldwork, data analysis, conceptual model development, assessment, design, and reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience preparing proposals and technical deliverables.
- Proven ability to mentor and lead colleagues while fostering a positive, collaborative culture.
- A strong client focus and the ability to build long‑term, trusted relationships.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally where required.
