Overview
In this role you oversee day-to-day manufacturing at the Featherstone site, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. You lead production teams across shifts, optimize processes, and monitor performance to meet customer expectations and site goals. You drive safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement using lean tools to reduce waste and improve throughput. The role sits within a company committed to sustainability and innovation in packaging, offering you the chance to shape operations at scale. You will partner with Engineering, QA, and Planning to deliver reliable operations and improve equipment reliability.
Responsibilities
- Champion safety-first culture and ensure regulatory compliance with audits and corrective actions
- Lead daily production across multiple shifts to meet schedules and on-time delivery
- Allocate resources to maximize throughput and minimize downtime
- Monitor KPIs (OEE, throughput, waste, downtime, labour efficiency) and manage variances
- Ensure product quality meets specs and regulatory requirements, investigate non-conformances with QA
- Direct/coach supervisors and production staff; oversee hiring and performance management
- Lead waste reduction, cycle-time improvements, and equipment reliability initiatives
- Utilize lean tools (5S, Kaizen, root cause analysis, SMED, value stream mapping) and partner with Engineering for upgrades and automation projects
- Develop production plans with Supply Chain; track performance and manage budgets
