We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to take ownership of quality across a large, mature, and business‑critical product suite in the automotive industry. This is a hands‑on individual contributor role with a strong mandate to design, implement, and embed QA processes where none currently exist.
You will work with complex systems spanning garage management, tyre hotels, scheduling and calendars, integrations, and industry‑specific EDI flows across Nordic markets, expanding into the UK and US markets. This role is for someone who knows how good QA should work and can make that happen in practice. This is not a “follow the process” role; you will define the process, select the tooling, and set the quality bar.
Key Responsibilities- Establish QA processes, standards, and ways of working from the ground up
- Define test strategies across manual, automation, performance, and security testing
- Introduce pragmatic quality gates and contribute toward future release sign‑off ownership
- Champion shift‑left testing and quality mindset across engineering teams
- Design and build automated test frameworks (automation is mandatory)
- Automate API, integration, and UI test coverage across a complex .NET‑centric ecosystem
- Test mature codebases with multiple subsystems, services, and integrations
- Validate business‑critical workflows involving scheduling, calendars, and automotive operations
- Test REST APIs and complex integrations (including EDI‑style integrations)
- Perform performance, load, and reliability testing
- Contribute to security and robustness testing where appropriate
- Actively participate in refinement by shaping clear, testable acceptance criteria
- Collaborate with developers during sprint planning to ensure quality considerations are embedded early
- Work within Scrum (2‑week sprints) using Azure DevOps
- Mentor engineers and future QA team members
- Help define what “good quality” means across teams and countries
- Operate comfortably in a cross‑team, cross‑country environment
- Technical Environment
- Backend: .NET, .NET Web APIs
- Database: SQL
- Infrastructure: Azure, IIS, Windows‑based environments
- Tooling: Azure DevOps (boards, repos, pipelines)
- Testing focus: REST APIs, UI testing, automation frameworks, performance testing
- Essential
- Senior‑level QA experience with strong automation expertise
- Proven experience building QA processes and tooling from scratch
- Deep understanding of testing across APIs, integrations, UI, and non‑functional areas
- Strong ownership mindset, you see gaps and close them
- Comfortable working with complex, long‑lived systems
- Able to balance pragmatism with high standards
- Highly Valued
- Experience testing large, distributed, business‑critical systems
- Confidence influencing developers and engineering leadership
- Experience in cross‑border, distributed teams
- Someone who gets things done, not just talks about best practice
- Hybrid working, flexible hours in line with Swedish labour law
- Close‑knit, respectful, high‑trust team culture
- Pragmatic, impact‑driven, low‑ego environment
- People who enjoy their work, collaborate well, and take pride in doing things properly
This role has significant growth potential within a large organisation with ambitious plans. As quality maturity grows, this role can evolve into broader leadership, architectural, or strategic quality responsibilities.
Why Join- Opportunity to shape quality from the ground up
- Complex, interesting domain with real‑world impact
- High trust and autonomy
- Clear need for impact, your work will matter immediately
