Job Description
The Senior Art Director develops conceptual, strategically grounded creative work for healthcare and pharmaceutical clients. This role partners closely with Copy, Strategy, Client Services, Medical, and Regulatory teams to create ideas that are visually compelling, insight‑driven, and appropriate for regulated environments. The role supports integrated campaigns across digital, social, CRM, print, and presentation channels.
What You’ll Do
- Develop conceptual art direction and visual systems that translate healthcare/pharma strategy into clear creative ideas.
- Create campaign concepts, layouts, storyboards, social assets, digital experiences, and presentation materials for client review.
- Partner with Copy, Strategy, Medical, and Client Services teams to ensure creative work is accurate, compelling, and aligned to client goals.
- Present and defend creative concepts to internal teams and clients using clear rationale tied to audience, brand, and business objectives.
- Guide visual craft across multiple projects while incorporating feedback from creative, medical, regulatory, and client stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Several years of art direction experience in an advertising, marketing, or healthcare communications environment, with portfolio examples from concept through execution.
- Demonstrated experience developing conceptual creative ideas for healthcare, pharma, life sciences, or other regulated/complex clients.
- Portfolio showing strong visual design, typography, layout, campaign thinking, and multi‑channel execution across digital and traditional formats.
- Experience presenting creative work to internal teams and clients, including rationale for concept, design choices, and audience relevance.
- Working knowledge of agency workflows, creative reviews, client feedback, and medical/regulatory approval processes.
- Ability to manage multiple creative deliverables at once while meeting timelines, quality standards, and stakeholder expectations.

- Experience mentoring or guiding junior creatives through feedback, concept development, or design reviews.

- Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Design, Art Direction, Visual Communications, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
