The predicted salary is between 28800 - 48000 £ per year.

This is a client facing role and involves the installation, commissioning, and initial customer training & support for the company's range of continuous reaction and crystallization equipment. The PE will seek to understand customer production process requirements and how to meet their requirements via the use of process technology solutions. It is envisaged the PE will spend significant time at customer sites which may involve international travel.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Install and commission equipment at customer sites across Europe and carry out initial product training.
  • Process engineering calculations and equipment specification.
  • Production of engineering documents such as P&IDs and line lists.
  • Contribute to risk assessments for equipment and for Client systems which incorporate company's equipment.
  • Make minor changes as required to equipment configuration at client sites.
  • Contribute to solving customers troubleshooting issues and process adaptation challenges using company's technology.
  • Make scheduled visits to customer sites to ensure on-going effective operation of equipment.
  • Liaise with the Senior Process Engineer, Process Development Chemist and CSO to solve customer challenges around reaction chemistry and/or crystallization.
  • Witness product build, factory testing and certification at manufacturing partner.
  • Contribute to product and documentation development for products.
  • Develop relationships with customer R&D and production personnel, understand process challenges and work with product development and support team to devise solutions.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Degree level in Chemical Engineering.
  • Awareness of basic process control methodologies and equipment (DCS, SCADA, PLC, basics of process control).
  • Capable of writing high quality technical reports.
  • Practically minded, with the ability to install sophisticated chemical process equipment at lab scale and solve practical issues that may arise.
  • Confident and self-assured personality with the ability to deal directly with customers in a professional manner as well as clearly communicate customer needs and requirements to the technical team.
  • Customer focused, with the desire to provide a high-quality service.
  • Inquisitive and questioning, with a desire to solve customer challenges and deliver the right solution.
  • Must be willing to travel extensively and act independently.
  • Associate Membership of IChemE and intention to work towards IChemE Chartered Engineer status.
