We are looking for an experienced Audit Manager to join our growing audit department, supporting the delivery of a high-quality audit and assurance service across a varied client portfolio. The Role

As an Audit Manager, you will take responsibility for managing audit engagements and leading audit teams to deliver work efficiently, on time, and within budget. You will act as a key point of contact for both clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring high standards of service and communication.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing audit assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring delivery within agreed budgets and timescales
  • Planning staffing and resource requirements for engagements
  • Preparing audit budgets in line with agreed fees and monitoring performance against them
  • Leading audit teams on-site and ensuring work is completed to the required quality standards
  • Reviewing work prepared by seniors and assistants before Partner/RI review
  • Liaising with clients to coordinate planning and completion meetings
  • Maintaining regular communication with Partners regarding progress and key issues
  • Identifying issues early and providing practical solutions
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing junior team members, including providing feedback and on-the-job training
  • Promoting continuous improvement and sharing technical knowledge across the team

The Person

We are seeking an ambitious and motivated individual with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering high-quality audit services.

You will demonstrate:

  • A professional qualification (ACA, ICAS, ACCA or equivalent), or equivalent experience
  • Strong experience in planning and delivering audits from start to finish
  • Proven ability to manage and develop team members, including delegation and performance management.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, managing multiple assignments effectively
  • Sound technical knowledge of auditing standards and procedures (GAAS)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions
  • A proactive approach to identifying improvements in client systems and internal controls
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and audit software (ideally MyWorkpapers)

You will also embody key leadership behaviours, including effective delegation, stakeholder management, collaboration, and a strong client focus.

A full driving licence is desirable as travel to client sites will be required.
