Laboratory Logistics & Operations Coordinator

Kleboe Jardine are delighted to be supporting Roslin Technologies with the appointment of a Laboratory Logistics & Operations Coordinator to join their team at the Roslin Innovation Centre

Roslin Technologies is an innovative biotechnology company developing an animal stem cell technology platform, providing ground breaking cell technology solutions to the emerging cultivated meat sector alongside growing activities within animal health.

This is a varied and hands‑on role combining day‑to‑day laboratory operations with inventory management and logistics coordination.

You'll play an important part in ensuring the company's laboratories remain organised, fully stocked and operational, while also supporting the movement of biological materials between customers, collaborators and suppliers.

Working closely with the Laboratory Manager and wider R&D and Operations teams, this is an opportunity to become an integral part of a small, collaborative biotech company working within an exciting and rapidly developing area of science.

The Role

Your responsibilities will span two key areas

  • Laboratory Operations
  • Support the day‑to‑day running and organisation of the laboratories
  • Prepare reagents for cell culture and ongoing R&D activities
  • Manage laboratory inventory, ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained.
  • Coordinate ordering, receipt and logging of laboratory reagents and consumables
  • Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities.
  • Schedule equipment maintenance and repairs. Support the Laboratory Manager with wider operational requirements.
  • Assist with activities including reagent aliquoting, laboratory cleaning, HACCP‑related workflows and gas cylinder changes.
  • Support continuous improvement of shipping and sample transfer processes and contribute to the development and updating of SOPs, checklists and training materials.
  • Logistics & Shipping. Plan, book, track and record domestic and international shipments
  • Coordinate the movement of cells, media and biological materials between customers, collaborators and suppliers Ensure appropriate delivery timelines and temperature requirements are met
  • Prepare and manage documentation for biological materials and dry ice shipments
  • Liaise with R&D, QC and other internal teams to confirm shipment contents, labelling, storage conditions and readiness
  • Coordinate appropriate shipping containers, packaging and documentation

About You

  • Previous experience working within laboratory operations or a similar scientific environment.
  • Good organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, flexible and hands‑on approach.
  • Good problem‑solving skills.
  • Confidence working independently while collaborating with a wider scientific team.
  • Experience with data recording and documentation would be beneficial.
  • Previous exposure to logistics, shipping or inventory management would be advantageous.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys variety, can adapt as priorities change and is happy to get involved wherever needed to help the laboratory and wider team operate effectively.
