Kleboe Jardine is recruiting a Data Analyst for our client, an independent energy and utilities intelligence business based in Edinburgh.
Every week businesses close as a result of increasing costs.
Our client helps organisations stop overpaying for energy and utilities, typically finding savings of 30 to 40%. Their team of specialists uses AI-driven technology to validate energy bills, audit historical consumption and broker fees, and recommend the right energy strategies and tariffs.
For a farm, a hotel or a care home, every pound saved can protect jobs and keep a business open.
The role
You will review clients’ energy bills and consumption data, check that every charge has been calculated correctly, and find the trends, anomalies and opportunities that allow costs to be reduced.
The business’s proprietary platform increasingly automates data retrieval, charting and anomaly detection. Your job is to interpret what the data shows, from how and when a business operates to where energy is being wasted, and to explain it clearly.
You will:
- retrieve, review, analyse and validate customer data using Excel and proprietary software
- produce charts, trend analysis, findings reports and monthly and quarterly client reports
- communicate professionally with clients and suppliers
- contribute to reports, presentations, website content and other initiatives as the business grows
About you
You are numerate, inquisitive and practical, and you enjoy solving problems and explaining what you find. You will have:
- strong numeracy and confidence working with data in Excel
- at least one year of work experience with clear evidence of a strong work ethic
- high attention to detail when handling large volumes of data
- good written and verbal communication skills
- a calm, adaptable approach and comfort with changing priorities
A degree, experience in a data, reporting or billing role, or an interest in energy and sustainability would be an advantage. Experience of advanced business intelligence tools is not required, and full training is provided.
What’s on offer
This is an early-career opportunity to join a small, friendly team that is growing quickly, with real scope to develop and progress.
- Benefits include a competitive salary, unlimited holiday, share options, pension, a well-being package, and support for further study and professional qualifications.
