We're seeking an experienced Interim Engineering Leader to guide a multifaceted engineering team through the critical final stage of product development and into market launch. This is a pivotal leadership role that will unlock sales potential and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership and mentorship across mechanical engineering, software engineering, and signal processing disciplines.
- Manage the relationship with our external manufacturing partner including quality control, root cause analysis, and supplier interactions.
- Oversee final FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) testing and verification to ensure product performance meets customer specifications.
- Lead supply chain management and stakeholder communication during this critical phase.
- Serve as the technical decision-maker and sounding board for the engineering team during product refinement.
- Maintain quality standards, documentation, and change control processes (ISO9001 certified).
- Bridge the gap between engineering, biology, data analytics, and commercial teams.
- Proven experience taking complex products (particularly in biotech, medtech, or medical devices) through final development stages to market launch.
- Strong technical leadership experience in a start-up/scale-up environment with appetite for managed risk.
- Deep understanding of product development, manufacturing partnerships, and quality assurance.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to make confident decisions under pressure.
- Essential: Ability to be onsite regularly (minimum 3 days/week initially) to build rapport with the team and understand the physical product.
