We’re working with a highly innovative, early-stage biotech company based in Edinburgh, building a computational biology capability at the core of its scientific and commercial delivery. This is a hands-on role for a Bioinformatician who wants to develop quickly in a genuinely high-impact environment.

You’ll work closely with an experienced Head of Bioinformatics and a multidisciplinary science team, contributing to both client-facing projects and internal research.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Analysing NGS and omics datasets across multiple projects
  • Supporting and developing data pipelines (Nextflow/Snakemake)
  • Working with cloud-based and Linux environments
  • Contributing to research workflows alongside scientists and ML engineers
  • Translating complex outputs into clear, usable insights

What we’re looking for:

  • MSc / PhD Bioinformatics / Computational Biology (or similar)
  • Experience with Python and/or R
  • Exposure to NGS data (alignment, QC, region-based analysis)
  • Familiarity with workflow tools (Nextflow, Snakemake)
  • Strong communication skills and curiosity

Nice to have:

  • Experience with regulatory genomics data
  • Exposure to machine learning workflows
  • Industry or academic research experience
