Our client IMV Imaging has an exciting new opportunity for a Digital Signal Processing Beamforming Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis. IMV Imaging are based in Bellshill, Glasgow and this will be a hybrid position.

IMV imaging is the dedicated veterinary imaging department of IMV Technologies. World leaders in veterinary imaging including ultrasound, X-ray, digital image management (PACS), CT and MRI.

In your role as a Digital Signal Processing Beamforming Engineer, you will join the Hardware and Software R&D team and participates in the research, design, develop and implement beamforming algorithms on new ultrasound systems and improve existing products of the IMV group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop functional specifications, feasibility studies and proposals for technical solutions,
  • Define analogue and digital electronic architectures (FPGA, SOC, ASIC, GPU),
  • Develop and test embedded firmware including DSP, Ultrasound beamforming,
  • Carry out proof of concept work,
  • Support existing products by contributing to the investigation and resolution of problems, and making improvements to existing products
  • Write documentation in accordance with the procedures defined in the Quality system (specifications, design and justification documents, technical reports, etc.),
  • Execute development tasks while controlling the costs, planning and on-time delivery,
  • Report on the progress of tasks by identifying difficulties and proposing alternative solutions,
  • Collaborate with the teams (electronics, embedded software, mechanics, etc.),
  • Interface with subcontractors and technology partners,
  • Able to provide innovative solutions and maintain a high level of product technicality.

  • Bachelor’s degree in electronics, or equivalent,
  • Experience in implementing Digital Signal Processing for ultrasound system preferred.
  • Technical skills in design, simulation tools, programming languages for FPGA (Embedded C and VHDL),
  • Fluent English to lead technical meetings and design reviews,
  • Excellent communication skills, cross function.
