We’re working with a highly innovative, early‑stage biotech company based in Edinburgh, building a computational biology capability at the core of its scientific and commercial delivery. This is a hands‑on role for a Bioinformatician who wants to develop quickly in a genuinely high‑impact environment. You’ll work closely with an experienced Head of Bioinformatics and a multidisciplinary science team, contributing to both client‑facing projects and internal research.
What you’ll be doing:
- Analysing NGS and omics datasets across multiple projects
- Supporting and developing data pipelines (Nextflow/Snakemake)
- Working with cloud‑based and Linux environments
- Contributing to research workflows alongside scientists and ML engineers
- Translating complex outputs into clear, usable insights
What we’re looking for:
- MSc / PhD Bioinformatics / Computational Biology (or similar)
- Experience with Python and/or R
- Exposure to NGS data (alignment, QC, region‑based analysis)
- Familiarity with workflow tools (Nextflow, Snakemake)
- Strong communication skills and curiosity
Nice to have:
- Experience with regulatory genomics data
- Exposure to machine learning workflows
- Industry or academic research experience
