Director of Sales, Commercial – Europe

About the Role

At Klaviyo, we're building one of the most ambitious go-to-market organisations in Saa S, and Dublin is at the heart of that growth.

We are looking for a talented Director of Sales to lead our Commercial organisation at Klaviyo.

Reporting to our VP of EMEA Sales, you’ll be responsible for leading a team of Sales Managers and a wider team of Commercial Account Executives across two offices (Dublin and London) and three sub-regions (Northern, Southern, and Central).

This includes hiring, training, operational rigour, forecast management, performance analysis, and day-to-day coaching and talent development.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of developing high-performing sales teams in a fast-paced environment and be able to demonstrate strong deal management and AI fluency.

  • In This Role You Will Be Responsible For
  • Build and Develop the Team
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Sales Managers and Account Executives across Europe.
  • Hire exceptional talent and raise the bar on what great looks like — building the pipeline of future Klaviyo leaders.
  • Coach Sales Managers to become strong people leaders in their own right.
  • Create clear development pathways and a culture of accountability, learning, and high performance.
  • Own the Regional Strategy
  • Develop and execute the go-to-market strategy for Klaviyo's Commercial segment across Europe.
  • Translate business objectives into clear priorities and operational plans.
  • Identify growth opportunities, optimise performance, and bring a founder's mindset to problem-solving.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to EMEA leadership on regional business decisions.
  • Drive Operational Excellence
  • Accurately forecast and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual business performance.
  • Use data to make decisions, surface trends, and drive accountability across the team.
  • Continuously improve pipeline management, sales process, and team productivity.
  • Evaluate and implement tools and processes that help the team scale effectively.
  • Partner Across the Business
  • Work closely with Marketing, Partnerships, Revenue Operations, Enablement, and Customer Success.
  • Influence strategy, share market insights, and align cross-functional teams around shared goals.
  • Contribute to EMEA succession planning and help shape the broader Klaviyo Dublin community.
  • How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Team
  • We are a great place to work, and our leaders set the tone.

You will need to ensure team morale remains high, people feel energised by their work, and we maintain a high standard for performance.

  • Regular tactical and developmental 1:1s with your team of managers.
  • Setting both quantitative and qualitative goals and targets for the team to hit business goals as well as support career development within the team.
  • Klaviyos deliver work that is deemed ‘remarkable’ by our peers, our customers, and the market.

You will focus on the quality of work, then learn how to do it faster, frugally, and more efficiently, but never compromising on quality.

  • Leadership
  • Working closely with the sales leadership team, you will provide thought leadership and strategic direction on our SMB segment within Southern and Central Europe.
  • Working cross-functionally, you will collaborate radically across all functions — particularly ops and enablement, marketing, partnerships, and success — both here in EMEA and in the US.
  • Inspire and coach AE Managers and AEs alike to fulfil their potential and serve as the foundation for future generations of Klaviyos.
  • Operationally
  • Understand and compile data, using it to support your strategic direction for the team.

Data will be both external — in the market — and internal, tracking team activity and impact.

You will clearly and concisely communicate key trends in data to your peers and key stakeholders.

  • Work to assess and introduce new tools and processes into the workflow and manage the change to ensure success.
  • Customers
  • Klaviyos start with the customer and work backward. With this in mind, you will put the customer first when thinking about the strategies being put in place for the team.

Who You Are

  • A proven sales leader with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams in a fast-growth environment — ideally within Saa S or technology.
  • Someone who has led leaders before, and knows what it takes to develop managers into great people leaders.
  • Comfortable operating across a broad scope — multiple markets, segments, and functions — without needing everything perfectly defined.
  • Resilient and adaptable: you've navigated ambiguity, led through change, and built in environments where the path wasn't always clear.
  • You have a builder's mindset — energised by creating structure where none exists and improving systems that are still evolving.
  • Data-driven: you use numbers to tell stories, make decisions, and hold teams accountable.
  • A strong communicator who can influence at all levels and bring people together around a shared vision.
  • Customer-focused and deeply committed to team success.
  • You bring energy, grit, and a genuine belief that how you build the team is as important as the results you deliver.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a high-growth Saa S or technology business, ideally with exposure to earlier-stage or scale-up environments.
  • Experience leading sales teams across European markets.
  • Fluency in French or German.
  • Background in ecommerce, marketing technology, or related industries.
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies such as Challenger, Sandler, or SPIN.
