The Role
We’re hiring a Junior Front‑End Developer to help us ship fast, accessible and performant web experiences, primarily on WordPress. You’ll work closely with the Founder, channel managers (SEO, PPC) and project managers, gaining hands‑on experience across new builds, feature iterations and site optimisations.
- Contract: Part‑time (2–3 days/week).
- Location: Hove (hybrid).
- Start: ASAP
- Compensation: Competitive, based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to developing new features and improving existing ones.
- Work with Product/Project Managers to understand requirements and implementation plans.
- Collaborate with designers and other product teams on customer‑facing features.
- Help with estimating, planning and executing small projects or tickets.
- Maintain and improve the existing codebase under guidance.
- Write well‑structured, tested and performant code, with reviews and mentorship.

Must‑Have Skills
- Experience managing and building WordPress front‑ends (themes/child themes, templates, hooks).
- Valid HTML5 and CSS3/4 markup with semantic structure.
- Google Tag Manager : tags, triggers, variables; confident using Preview/Debug and Tag Assistant to QA implementations.
- Tracking basics : setting up and QA’ing GA4 events and common ad pixels (e.g., Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn); basic dataLayer understanding and clean UTM usage.
- Hosting & environment basics: managing WordPress hosts (e.g., WP Engine, Kinsta, cPanel/Plesk), setting up staging sites, handling backups/restores, managing SSL/TLS, making DNS updates (A/CNAME/TXT), configuring redirects (301/302), working with caching/CDNs (e.g., Cloudflare), and basic log/error troubleshooting.
