At The Caledonian Edinburgh, our Groups, Conference & Events department curates extraordinary experiences for guests, delegates and organisers from across the globe. We are seeking an Assistant GC&E Manager to lead and inspire the team, ensuring flawless planning, excellent conversion and luxury-standard client journeys that reflect the heritage and elegance of the "Caley."
The Person
- Experienced in a GC&E supervisory or similar sales/events role within hospitality
- A confident leader with excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Positive, polished communicator with strong IT knowledge, including Microsoft Office
- Detail-driven, resilient and capable of thriving in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Strong numerical skills, data-aware and comfortable analysing performance metrics.
The Role
- Lead, coach and motivate the GC&E team to achieve revenue and conversion targets
- Manage incoming enquiries, supporting the team to maximise sales opportunities
- Oversee planning, event coordination and billing to ensure seamless client experiences
- Build strong relationships with key customers and internal departments
- Support departmental KPI setting, performance management and promotional activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide the GC&E team in enquiry handling, conversion and proposal excellence
- Drive departmental goals, revenue maximisation and guest satisfaction
- Ensure events are planned to Waldorf Astoria standards, including VIP and large-scale functions
- Collaborate effectively across commercial and operational teams
- Represent the department in promotional activities and client engagement.
