KLA Instruments is hiring a Product Development Engineer with a strong Electrical Engineering focus to support the development of advanced inspection and metrology systems for scientific and semiconductor manufacturing. This role is part of a truly global product development organisation, collaborating with engineering and product teams in the USA, UK, and India. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, integration, testing, and validation of electrical and electro optical subsystems used in cutting edge metrology equipment, from early development through product release and sustaining support.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and verify electrical subsystems for metrology tools, including sensor interfaces, control electronics, and system interconnects.
  • Support system level integration of electrical, optical, mechanical, and software subsystems.
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate electrical performance, reliability, and compliance with specifications.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and troubleshooting of system level issues during development, integration, and customer escalations.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) activities, including prototype builds, validation, and release to manufacturing.
  • Collaborate closely with cross functional teams (systems, optics, mechanics, software, manufacturing, service, and marketing).
  • Produce clear and concise technical documentation, including specifications, schematics, test procedures, and reports.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience in electrical design and development within a product development or engineering environment.
  • Hands‑on experience with electrical system integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with mixed‑signal electronics, sensor interfaces, or electro‑optical systems.
  • Experience using electrical test and measurement equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators).
  • Experience with schematic capture, PCB design review, or system‑level electrical architecture.
  • Experience with data analysis or scripting tools such as Python or MATLAB.
  • Ability to work effectively in multi‑disciplinary, geographically distributed teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
