KLA is seeking an Electrical Engineer – Energy Efficiency to support engineering initiatives focused on reducing electrical energy consumption across KLA semiconductor manufacturing tools. This role contributes to tool‑level energy efficiency improvements, supporting internal energy reduction objectives and customer sustainability requirements. The Electrical Engineer will work on defined electrical subsystems and projects, performing analysis and implementing design improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse electrical subsystems to identify energy reduction and power optimization opportunities
  • Support design improvements for:
    • Power supplies and power distribution systems
    • Motors, drives, and motion control systems
    • Heaters, RF power, and other high‑power electrical loads
    • Standby, idle, and peak power reduction strategies
  • Support development of energy baselines, duty‑cycle analysis, and KPIs
  • Execute lab testing and validation to verify energy reduction results
  • Collaborate with Mechanical, Systems, Software, and Product Safety engineers on integrated solutions
  • Support compliance with applicable SEMI safety standards and internal design requirements
  • Assist with evaluation of installed base energy efficiency improvements, including retrofit concepts
  • Prepare electrical schematics, design documentation, and engineering change orders
  • Support troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis related to electrical power and energy performance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with energy efficiency or power optimization projects
  • Familiarity with SEMI standards and electrical design
  • Exposure to PLC, embedded control systems, or power management strategies
  • Experience supporting complex industrial or semiconductor equipment

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Level Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related field and relevant work experience
