Job Description

The KLA Central Engineering Group is looking for a UX/UI Specialist to join our growing team and design intuitive workflows and interfaces for technical users. Your work will simplify complex processes and improve efficiency for engineering and operations teams. In this role, you’ll contribute across the full UX process – from problem framing and rapid research to high‑fidelity design, prototyping, and handoff. Key Responsibilities

  • Research & Analysis: Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights, identify user needs, and validate design concepts.
  • Design & Prototyping: Create wireframes, prototypes, and high‑fidelity designs for complex systems, ensuring they meet business and user requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs are feasible and align with project goals.
  • Design Systems: Contribute to the development and maintenance of design systems to ensure consistency across different products and tools.
  • User Experience Strategy: Define and advocate for best practices in user experience design, ensuring a user‑centered approach is maintained throughout the design process.
  • Stay Updated: Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX/UI design.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ideally hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Design, Human‑Computer Interaction (HCI) or a related subject.
  • Experience in product/UX design with shipped work in complex or multi‑step applications.
  • Strength in interaction design, prototyping, and UI craft; proficiency in Figma/FigJam.
  • Experience running or assisting in usability studies and synthesizing findings.
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills; comfortable presenting work and rationale.
  • Portfolio that demonstrates end‑to‑end problem solving and your contribution within a team.
  • Experience in data‑heavy or technical products; comfort with tables, filters, states, and validation is preferred.
  • Familiarity with accessibility, localization, and performance considerations.
  • Exposure to design tokens and component libraries.
