Description
This is an exciting role within our Manufacturing Design Engineering (MDE) team, focused on designing and developing improvements to products and processes to support manufacturing growth, new product launches, and continuous improvement projects.
The MDE will play a critical role in ensuring manufacturing and support teams plan and execute projects according to specifications, efficiently, to deliver high-value capital equipment on time and within scope.
The role involves cross-functional collaboration, allowing the MDE to develop relationships across the organization and contribute to the growth of technical capabilities.
We expect MDEs to have a broad understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and a desire for continuous improvement.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Providing feedback on Design for Manufacture to Product Design and New Product Launch teams
- Creating and maintaining product specs and BOMs using Solid Edge, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD Electrical
- Managing specifications with Enovia PLM (training provided)
- Leading multiple projects, working cross-functionally with Operations and Engineering teams
- Investigating and resolving technical challenges in manufacturing processes
- Providing technical guidance to Supply Chain and Outsourcing teams
- Performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
- Generating, reviewing, and approving Engineering Change Orders
- Understanding budgets and supporting CAPEX requests
- Implementing changes following our Product Lifecycle (PLC) process
Qualifications:
- Degree qualified in Engineering or HNC/HND with relevant experience
- Proficiency with Solid Edge, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD Electrical (desirable)
- Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC A-610H standards (desirable)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
