Description
Mechanical Engineering, part of the Central Engineering group at KLA, is critical to both our product groups and our customers. We are an award-winning group responsible for the end-to-end design, prototyping, testing, and delivery of groundbreaking packaging solutions and sophisticated products.
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who is hands-on, self-motivated, and a great team player. The candidate will collaborate with multi-functional teams during the design process to detail packaging designs and procedures.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Working with Mechanical / Packaging engineers to capture requirements, design, test, document, and release packaging.
- Testing fit of packaging containers to ensure accurate fit and collaborating to identify handling and safety requirements.
- Performing tasks with minimal supervision and employing good project management practices to meet deadlines.
- Advocating for efficient packaging procedures, materials, and protective packaging systems with internal customers or suppliers.
- Maintaining relationships with regional suppliers as part of the wider packaging engineering team.
Qualifications:
- BSc in Mechanical Engineering or Packaging Engineering
- Proficiency in CREO Parametric 3D and Intralink software
- Strong fundamentals in design principles, materials selection, and packaging fabrication
- Knowledge of Electronic / Clean Room packaging (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present to teams and internal customers
- Hands-on mechanical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively
This role may require international travel to the US for training.
