Overview
In this role you ensure high-quality performance of SPTS single-wafer products through hands-on testing, integration, and fault resolution. You work with a cross-functional team in a modern Newport facility to meet customer specifications and timelines. You will identify defects in real time and contribute to process improvements. Responsibilities
- Install modular semiconductor equipment or fully integrated systems
- Test live equipment to set specifications across electrical and pneumatic systems
- Perform electrical and mechanical fault finding down to component level
- Conduct cosmetic and functional quality control
- Suggest improvements to procedures and methods
- Collaborate with team to resolve complex issues
- Drive product throughput to meet deadlines and customer requirements
- Record test data in the Shop Floor Online software suite
- Support Product Groups in developing new products (occasionally)
Key requirements
- Experience as a Test Engineer or similar role with familiarity of electromechanical products
- Ability to meet timescales and deadlines
- Strong analytical and fault-finding skills; able to use electrical/mechanical schematics
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Excellent communication and relationship-building within teams
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Computer literate
- Able to work to the shift pattern (Mon–Fri, 6am–2pm Week 1; 2pm–10pm Week 2) with shift premium
