Overview

In this role you ensure high-quality performance of SPTS single-wafer products through hands-on testing, integration, and fault resolution. You work with a cross-functional team in a modern Newport facility to meet customer specifications and timelines. You will identify defects in real time and contribute to process improvements. Responsibilities

  • Install modular semiconductor equipment or fully integrated systems
  • Test live equipment to set specifications across electrical and pneumatic systems
  • Perform electrical and mechanical fault finding down to component level
  • Conduct cosmetic and functional quality control
  • Suggest improvements to procedures and methods
  • Collaborate with team to resolve complex issues
  • Drive product throughput to meet deadlines and customer requirements
  • Record test data in the Shop Floor Online software suite
  • Support Product Groups in developing new products (occasionally)

Key requirements

  • Experience as a Test Engineer or similar role with familiarity of electromechanical products
  • Ability to meet timescales and deadlines
  • Strong analytical and fault-finding skills; able to use electrical/mechanical schematics
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building within teams
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Computer literate
  • Able to work to the shift pattern (Mon–Fri, 6am–2pm Week 1; 2pm–10pm Week 2) with shift premium
