Overview

As Platform Mechanical Design Engineer, you will design and validate core mechanical, thermal, and vacuum systems that integrate SPTS process equipment into customer fabs.

You’ll work in a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team to meet tight regulatory and project deadlines, while supporting manufacturing and service activities.

You’ll contribute to obsolescence engineering and prototype testing, with opportunities for personal growth in a global, highly technical environment.

This role combines hands-on design with collaboration across departments to enable advanced wafer processing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical design from concept to release for product hardware
  • Designing components for vacuum environments
  • Collaborate in multi-disciplinary systems design teams
  • Pneumatic systems design
  • Obsolescence engineering
  • Produce design documentation and regulatory-relevant reports
  • Support Manufacturing, Commodity and NPL departments
  • Bill of materials cost control and supplier liaison
  • Build and test prototypes
  • Lead small projects from concept to implementation
  • Mentor junior engineers
  • Key requirements
  • Minimum Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics engineering or related
  • 3D CAD experience with Solid Edge or similar
  • Proven development and design experience
  • CNC machining and fabrication design experience
  • Experience using FEA tools
  • Excellent knowledge of GD&T
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team
  • Good IT skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)
