Overview
As Platform Mechanical Design Engineer, you will design and validate core mechanical, thermal, and vacuum systems that integrate SPTS process equipment into customer fabs.
You’ll work in a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team to meet tight regulatory and project deadlines, while supporting manufacturing and service activities.
You’ll contribute to obsolescence engineering and prototype testing, with opportunities for personal growth in a global, highly technical environment.
This role combines hands-on design with collaboration across departments to enable advanced wafer processing solutions.

Responsibilities
- Mechanical design from concept to release for product hardware
- Designing components for vacuum environments
- Collaborate in multi-disciplinary systems design teams
- Pneumatic systems design
- Obsolescence engineering
- Produce design documentation and regulatory-relevant reports
- Support Manufacturing, Commodity and NPL departments
- Bill of materials cost control and supplier liaison
- Build and test prototypes
- Lead small projects from concept to implementation
- Mentor junior engineers
- Key requirements
- Minimum Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics engineering or related
- 3D CAD experience with Solid Edge or similar
- Proven development and design experience
- CNC machining and fabrication design experience
- Experience using FEA tools
- Excellent knowledge of GD&T
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team
- Good IT skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)
