Overview
In this role you will advance plasma etch processes and process customer wafers using demo equipment. You will work across multiple process modules to create new recipes that meet customer needs and support hardware testing when needed. You’ll generate technical reports, help protect IP, and collaborate with global teams to drive process performance. The role includes international travel to support customer installs and potential shift work. You will shape next‑gen etch solutions within a world‑leading semiconductor equipment company.

Responsibilities
- Demonstrate plasma etch processes to meet specifications
- Assess results with analytical tools and software
- Troubleshoot and problem solve
- Provide progress updates to Product Management
- Communicate effectively with customers and global support network
- Summarise results in reports and presentations
- Develop processes aligned with SPTS products
- Plan and execute work safely and on schedule
- Apply endpoint techniques to improve control
- Run marathon tests for new processes/equipment
- Contribute to new product/process teams
- Write technical reports for patent applications/conferences
- Support at customer sites and provide factory-based email support
- Maintain good customer relationships
Key requirements
- PhD in a science discipline preferred or equivalent plasma etch experience
- Strong analytical skills and metrology experience
- SEM skills advantageous with training provided
- Knowledge of end point techniques; good communication and autonomy
- Ability to work independently and in small teams; good time management
