Overview
As part of the PVD Samples team, you will develop and qualify PVD deposition processes for customer wafers at our Newport factory, advancing multiple module types and applications. You will generate new process recipes, perform hardware testing, and support field and cross-functional teams. The role includes supervising juniors, drafting technical reports and IP submissions, and occasionally managing projects with international travel. You join a collaborative environment that drives process development and customer-facing demonstrations with broad impact.

Responsibilities
- Demonstrate PVD deposition processes to meet defined specs
- Collaborate with Product Marketing to define demo specs and run tools
- Analyze results with analytical software
- Troubleshoot issues and provide progress updates
- Develop new processes aligned with roadmaps and test enhanced hardware
- Write technical reports for patents and publications
- Provide remote and on-site field support and international travel as needed
- Coordinate with other engineering teams on projects and tool maintenance
Key requirements
- Industry experience with semiconductor processing equipment or substrate metrology
- Degree/Master/PhD in chemistry, physics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong problem-solving with data collection and analysis
- Good written and oral communication
- Ability to work autonomously and in small teams
- Willingness for international travel
- Experience in measuring films (thickness, stress, roughness, reflectivity, etc.)
