Overview
You will contribute to advancing semiconductor processing by developing PVD deposition processes and testing customer wafers at our Newport facility. As part of the PVD Samples team, you’ll translate customer needs into robust process recipes while collaborating with product marketing, hardware teams and field support. You’ll balance hands-on process work with data-driven analysis and reporting, helping shape SPTS technology and customer solutions. This role offers international travel, shift work, and close cross‑functional teamwork to drive impactful results.

Responsibilities
- Demonstrate PVD deposition and related processes to customer specifications using demo tools
- Assess results with analytical equipment and software, enabling data-informed decisions
- Troubleshoot issues and provide regular progress updates to Product Marketing
- Build and maintain relationships with Product Marketing, customers, and maintenance teams
- Develop new processes aligned with yearly roadmaps and test with enhanced hardware
- Prepare written reports and presentations summarizing results
- Provide remote field support and coordinate with cross-department teams
- Travel internationally as needed
Key requirements
- Industry experience in semiconductor preferred
- Degree level in chemistry, physics, or relevant field
- Creative/problem-solving approach with ability to generate practical solutions
- Strong data analysis capability with ability to measure film properties (thickness, resistance, stress, etc.)
- Good oral and written communication and ability to work autonomously or in a small team
- Creative and innovative problem solving
