Overview

In this role you will contribute to PVD semiconductor process hardware development and service, supporting Alpha & Beta systems and retrofits. You’ll build expertise in system operation, integration, and diagnostics while working with engineers to meet tight deadlines in a regulated industry. You will travel internationally to install, test, and optimize equipment at customer sites and report improvements back to the factory. This is a hands-on, collaborative role with cross-functional teams in a global company.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, develop, and improve PVD equipment hardware
  • Build and fault-find in new designs in the factory as part of PLC processes
  • Install and fault-find new products at customer sites
  • Report improvements and customer requirements to the factory
  • Improve serviceability of new designs
  • Test and ensure machines comply with international standards
  • Prepare technical reports
  • Plan and execute hardware testing, validation, and performance characterization
  • Collaborate with process engineers to optimise hardware performance for reliability and process capability
  • Support technology development programs from concept to customer-ready

Key requirements

  • Minimum HNC Electrical/ Mechanical/ Mechatronics or related field
  • Customer-facing experience
  • Experience in diagnosing faults and analytical mindset
  • Able to work autonomously and in a team
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work across time zones
  • Calm under pressure in semiconductor manufacturing environments
  • Strong communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues
  • Willingness to travel internationally approx. 50%
