Overview

In this role, you will support a portfolio of surface and mechanical metrology systems, driving service model consistency and scalable processes. You’ll partner with engineering to integrate product updates into serviceability plans and train teams to handle new features. As the Voice of Service, you’ll translate field feedback into improvements and help optimize cost, reliability, and maintenance strategies. The position combines field support with continuous improvement across installs, with international travel expected up to 25%. Based in Newport, UK, you’ll shape service readiness for MEMS, RF, and packaging technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Drive consistency and scalability of service models across shared platforms
  • Improve service workflows, tooling, calibration processes, and parts strategies
  • Partner with engineering on product updates (hardware, software, features) and assess impacts on serviceability, training, and spare parts
  • Maintain and evolve Product Support Plans (PSP) using field data to refine cost, reliability, and PM strategies
  • Find opportunities for cross-product standardisation and simplification
  • Support escalations and identify systemic issues across the install base; translate field feedback into engineering improvements and service solutions
  • Develop scalable training and documentation focused on shared infrastructure; lead BKMs, troubleshooting flows, and knowledge systems
  • Support targeted installs and upgrades to validate and improve service processes; drive continuous improvement through best practices and cross-team teamwork

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
