The SPTS division of KLA designs, manufactures and markets wafer processing solutions for the global semiconductor and related industries. SPTS provides industry-leading etch and deposition process technologies on a range of single wafer handling platforms. End-market applications include micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), advanced packaging, LED, high-speed RF device ICs and power semiconductors.

Joining the multi-disciplined team, you will provide hardware maintenance support working on varied process module types to ensure we continue to achieve our exacting standards. This role will involve the maintenance and preparation of lab equipment for the running of customer samples and R&D projects for our Deposition Business Unit.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining the demo lab equipment and configuring the modules to the requested customer demo configuration.
- Planning and coordinating parts to perform the required configuration.
- Supporting R&D Engineers for new part introductions.
- Solving problems on a priority basis.
- Assisting in the installation and start-up of new equipment.
- Providing Breathing Apparatus (BA) / Emergency Response Team (ERT) support.
- Following safe operating practices in the clean room.
- As part of the Technician team, sharing responsibility for planning and completing safe work plans on sophisticated systems containing varied energy sources and toxic gases, together with the relevant risk as required.
- Contributing to the continual improvement of our already excellent safety record.
- Maintaining records/documentation relating to work carried out and parts inventory.
- Clear communication with a variety of stakeholders at varying levels.
- Implementing service and safety bulletins, procedures, reports and engineering drawings.

- Is a multi-skilled Engineer with a good understanding of Electronic/Electrical/Mechanical systems.
- Is hands-on and capable of evaluating and fault finding.
- Has experience of gas systems.
- Has shown safe working practices due to working in an exacting environment.
- Is experienced in following operating practices and procedures.
- Is willing to undertake Breathing Apparatus training.
- Can work to tight timescales in a highly regulated industry.
- Knowledge of similar semiconductor equipment would be an advantage, as would prior experience of electronic fault finding, RF test equipment and/or high vacuum systems.

Minimum Qualifications: Has HNC or equivalent level qualification in Electrical/Mechanical engineering or similar relevant field. Candidates with previous Semiconductor experience preferred.
