The Role
This is the role that keeps HR running – accurate data, slick processes, and a service people actually trust. You'll be the first point of contact for HR queries, the guardian of our HR system and employee records, and the person who makes sure the day-to-day just works, across the whole employee lifecycle.
It's also a role with room to grow. Working closely with the UK HR Director and HR Business Partners, you'll get into employee relations, people projects and continuous improvement – building the knowledge and commercial feel that leads toward Senior HR Advisor or HR Business Partner roles down the line.
What You’ll Do
- Own the HRIS – keep employee records accurate, secure and GDPR-compliant, manage all lifecycle transactions (starters, changes, promotions, leavers), and maintain org structures, job profiles and workflows.
- Run a responsive HR Shared Services desk – first point of contact for policy, process and system queries, delivered to agreed service levels.
- Prepare the paperwork that matters – contracts, offer letters, amendments – and coordinate onboarding, probation and offboarding.
- Support payroll with accurate, on-time data, and handle Occupational Health referrals, family leave and personnel files.
- Give first-line advice to managers on routine HR matters, and support ER casework – absence, disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance – including notes, documentation and investigations.
- Produce people metrics and dashboards (headcount, turnover, absence, vacancies), spot the trends, and turn them into insight for the HR team.
- Find ways to streamline and automate HR processes, and support system upgrades, testing and new digital initiatives.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in an HR Shared Services, HR Advisor, HR Coordinator or HRIS role.
- CIPD Level 5 – qualified, or studying towards it.
- Hands-on with HR Information Systems, HR administration, and payroll interfaces or system implementation.
- Good working knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent Excel – comfortable producing HR reports and metrics.
- Excellent organisation, high attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to data accuracy and confidentiality.
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting employee relations casework.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies.
Personal Profile
- Customer-focused and calm under multiple priorities, with the discipline to keep data clean and deadlines met.
- A clear communicator who builds trust across the business and handles confidential matters with integrity.
- Curious and improvement-minded, with the commercial awareness and resilience to grow into a broader HR role.
If you are determined, thrive in a fast-paced environment with high levels of accountability and focus, then we’d love to meet you!
