Real Estate Credit Business Overview
KKR’s Real Estate Credit business was formed in January 2015 to invest in real estate credit products and complement KKR Real Estate’s private equity platforms. The team is led by Matt Salem and has ~40 dedicated investment and asset management professionals based in New York, San Francisco, Houston and London. With an exceptional track record in Real Estate equity in North America and Europe and Real Estate credit in North America, the business is now consolidating a commercial real estate credit presence in Europe having launched the strategy in 2022.
Role and Responsibilities
- Excel modelling
- Drafting of memoranda for internal and external use
- Market research
- Development of presentations
- Performing various analyses to assist in making investment decisions
- Real estate valuation analysis
- Assisting with due diligence and execution of transactions
- Involvement with management of external parties such as operating partners and external service providers
Role Summary

Selection Criteria / Required Skills
- Previous Internship in Real Estate Credit, Real Estate Equity or Investment Banking
- Strong academic track record
- Interest in Real Estate
- Second European Language is preferred
- Strong financial modelling skills
- Positive and eager attitude with a willingness and curiosity to learn
- Ability to learn quickly, take initiative and demonstrate proactivity in approach to work
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with capacity to interact with all levels
- Dedicated team player with a strong sense of ownership
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging work environment making time management and work prioritization essential skills
Internship Details
- Internship Start Date: June 2026 (second cycle). The CV should clearly indicate which cycle you are applying for and earliest available start date underneath candidate’s name.
- Internship Duration: 6 months
- Job Location: KKR, 18 Hanover Square, London, W1S 1TA
- Hours: Monday to Friday 9.00-6.00, flexibility required
