Position Summary

KKR is seeking a skilled and experienced tax professional to join its EMEA Tax team in London, reporting directly to the EMEA Head of Tax. The role will be a senior point of ownership for tax matters relating to KKR’s EMEA sub‑advisers and the global funds they manage, with a focus on house corporate tax matters, fund structuring, investor‑related tax issues and tax authority interactions. The scope of the role is broad and therefore a strong understanding of the asset management industry, including its key complexities and focus areas, is essential, together with robust technical expertise in fund structuring and international tax.

Responsibilities

  • Group/House Tax Structuring: Lead and oversee tax matters relating to KKR’s EMEA house and sub‑adviser entities, including corporate structuring, permanent establishment risk, transfer pricing, governance and ongoing risk management. Take ownership of tax authority interactions and enquiries relating to house matters, including managing tax authority audits, investigations and dispute processes across a range of areas (e.g. partnership tax matters, employment‑related securities, transfer pricing and other corporate tax matters). Advise on the design and implementation of sustainable group structures across jurisdictions and support house M&A and strategic initiatives. Provide technical input on complex or judgement‑heavy tax positions affecting house entities, including partnership matters, employment‑related securities and broader international tax developments (e.g. Pillar II, CbCR and transfer pricing).
  • Fund Structuring & LP Interface: Represent EMEA in global fund structuring discussions, ensuring regional considerations are appropriately reflected across fund design, holding structures and investor requirements. Provide tax input into new fund launches, restructurings and product evolution, including coordination with Global Tax, Legal and product teams. Advise on the tax implications of fund structures for a diverse investor base, including institutional and wealth channels, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives and market practice. Act as a senior point of contact for LP tax queries within EMEA, providing clear, commercially focused responses in coordination with Investor Relations and Global Tax. Support the preparation and review of investor‑facing tax materials, including disclosures, fund documentation and responses to due diligence requests. Identify and assess emerging investor‑driven tax requirements and market trends, ensuring KKR’s fund structures remain competitive and robust.
  • Carry and Co‑Invest Structuring Support: Advise on the structuring and ongoing management of carry, co‑invest and executive incentive arrangements. Oversee calculations and reporting relating to executive remuneration structures, including IBCI/AHP, carried interest and associated tax implications. Partner with Product Teams, Legal, Human Capital and Finance to ensure structures are technically robust, commercially aligned and appropriately implemented.
  • Executive Tax Support: Lead the implementation and ongoing management of executive tax reporting processes across EMEA, ensuring consistency and accuracy. Provide corporate tax input on executive mobility and cross‑border employment considerations. Coordinate with Human Capital, Finance, Legal and external advisers to ensure executive tax matters are managed proactively and aligned with firm policies.
  • Corporate Filings: Oversee corporation tax compliance across house entities, including review of filings, coordination of external advisers and ensuring appropriate governance and risk management. Oversee employment‑related securities, PSA, s.431 elections, and IR35 assessments across house entities, in coordination with the Human Capital team.
  • House Pillar II: Act as EMEA lead on Pillar II implementation for House entities and coordinate with the rest of the EMEA and Global Tax teams and advisers as required.
  • Strategic Projects: Support broader strategic initiatives as required and relevant for the KKR House entities.

Qualifications

Professional certification such as LLM, CA, ACA, CTA, or equivalent required. Minimum of ten years of relevant tax experience in a law firm, Big 4 accounting firm or in‑house private equity/asset management role, with strong experience in fund structuring, carry and international tax.
