Job Description:
- Provide comprehensive Wing Engineering support as part of the overall Wing Design Organization (IAW).
- Provide reactive support for A400M daily in-service repairs and ensure adherence to aeroplane Design Organization Approval (DOA) requirements and export control regulations.
- Ability to manage modification processes through Decision Gates (DG) including Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR).
- Collaborate closely with the offshore engineering team, ensuring clear technical communication, timely guidance, and smooth execution of deliverables.
- Lead and support the structural design and development of primary aerospace wing components in accordance with relevant processes, methods, and standards.
- Solid understanding of aerospace design principles, airworthiness constraints, and manufacturing processes.
- Review and validate design outputs such as 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bill Of Material to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Provide technical expertise on structures, materials, stress sizing, manufacturing considerations, and certification constraints.
- Providing support to other general design activities, e.g. Process improvements, cost reduction etc.
- Drive issue resolution by interfacing with cross functional teams (stress, manufacturing, quality, configuration management, etc.).
- Ensure adherence to DMU, PLM, and configuration control processes.
- Prepare and deliver design reviews (Maturity phases, PDR, CDR, DFM).
- Manage engineering data, documentation, and deliverables in compliance with quality and configuration requirements.
- Support digital continuity initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement in design and communication processes.
Skillset:
- Understanding of aerospace design principles and airworthiness requirements.
- Knowledge of metallic and composite design principles.
- Knowledge of processes and procedures relating to design (RSDP, SIDP, AP, ABD, AIPI, AIPS, etc.).
- Experience of using DocMaster, Airnavx etc.
- Aeroplane Design Signatory experience (Checker/approver).
- Valid training certificates in VPM and PASS SSI.
- Experience in DMU reviews, Interface Point Management and multi partner environments.
- Knowledge of MOD, DQN and RDR.
