Role: HVDC - control and Protection Engineer
Location: Stafford, UK
Employment type: Contract Inside IR35
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead a multidiscipline team of engineers specializing in control and protection system, automation system, HV & LV power systems, and verification & Validation ensuring the overall solution meets customer, contract, quality and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical leadership, advice and assistance to the overall project team as appropriate including Tendering, Commissioning, Service and 3rd parties.
- Support the Project (Engineering) Manager as required and deputise for them as and when the need arises. Plan and progress all design engineering related activities including testing and commissioning for specific projects.
- Monitor, control and manage engineering budgets, project documentation, risk management process, design reviews and quality & change control system in accordance with company guidelines.
- Support improvement initiatives and ‘cost out’ plans in collaborations with teams from other business units.
- Act as primary technical & project interface with all project stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, NPI and Product care
- Ensuring that all activities are efficiently and cost-effectively executed according to contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.
- Manage and lead the team to successfully execute projects with adherence to the project schedule, cost and contract.
- Lead and motivate a group of technical people.
- Act as a problem solver and take responsibility for control & protection along with automation of HVDC solutions.
- Day-to-day interaction with different functions and joint problem solving within the core team for efficient collaboration and continuous competency development.
