New 4-Bed EBD Children’s Home

Location: Slough

Salary: Up to £70,000pa

We’re looking for a Registered Children\’s Home Manager to support in opening a new 4-bed EBD home in Slough. Someone experienced, grounded and passionate about creating the right kind of environment for young people and staff alike.

This isn’t just about keeping things ticking over. It’s a chance to shape a service from the start, with the backing of a leadership team who get what good practice looks like and want someone who shares that vision.

What the role involves

You’ll be responsible for setting up and running the home day to day. That includes making sure it meets all the regulatory standards, but also that it feels like a safe, stable place for both young people and staff.

Some of what you’ll be doing:

  • Working closely with the RI and Directors to get the home open and ready for inspection
  • Recruiting and developing a strong team who understand trauma-informed care and know how to apply it in practice
  • Creating tailored plans around each child’s needs, with a focus on emotional wellbeing and consistency
  • Building and maintaining strong links with local authorities, families and professionals
  • Taking the lead on budgeting, rota planning and making sure the service runs smoothly

What we’re looking for

We want someone who’s already working at Registered or Deputy level in an EBD setting, and who’s confident taking ownership. You’ll need to bring:

  • A solid understanding of what good care looks like in a multi-placement setting
  • Experience managing teams and services with a focus on therapeutic, child-centred approaches
  • Knowledge of Ofsted regs, safeguarding, and what it takes to get a home to ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’
  • A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership (or working towards it)
  • A calm, steady presence and a real commitment to getting it right for the young people in your care

What’s on offer

  • Salary up to £70,000 depending on experience
  • Ongoing development, with the chance to step into senior leadership as the organisation grows
  • A real opportunity to shape a new service with the support of people who know the sector inside out

If this sounds like the kind of challenge you\’re ready for, let’s talk.
