Responsibilities:
- Management of the stores system to 'Book In' and 'Book Out' items as required from business needs
- Inspection and confirmation that delivery requirements are compliant and accurate to order description, free of damage and of the correct specification and quality
- Continuous monitoring of inventory levels through periodic stocktaking activities
- Tracking and expediting of goods ordered in compliance with delivery lead times and control of goods issued to ensure management of stock is controlled
- Coordination of allocation and kitting of inventory required for scheduled work
- Identification, locating and reserving materials held on inventory for work scheduled or point of use and management of unused spares back onto stock
- Management of all inventory through an existing MRP system, ensuring accurate data input together with responsibility for the integrity of all software systems
- Responsible for the management of the anodising system, which includes:
- Preparation of all parts to be delivered for plating, on the anodising bench
- Ensures all paperwork is present and correct for all parts being sent to anodising
- Ensures the system is updated for all parts being sent to anodising and subsequently returned
- Ensuring strict adherence to all relevant Health and Safety procedures
- Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; consults with the Production Manager in respect of placing or expediting orders for supply
- Documents actions as appropriate/completes all company paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
- Contributes to the team effort meeting all schedules and timelines demonstrates a strong team approach ensuring clear communication with colleagues at all levels
- To undertake continuous training and development as required
About you:
Essential:
- Previous experience in a Stores, Goods-In, or Inventory control role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Strong numerical and administrative skills (for MRP system data entry)
- Experience using an MRP or ERP system (e.g. Sage, SAP, Epicor, or similar)
- Physical ability to handle components/materials safely
- High attention to detail (crucial for checking technical specs and anodizing prep)
- Full driving licence and access to own transport
Desirable:
- Experience in Engineering or Metal Fabrication environments
- Forklift Truck (FLT) licence (Reach or Counterbalance)
- Understanding of Anodising or surface treatment processes (or a willingness to learn)
- Knowledge of CNC machine parts or technical drawings
