Job Summary Kiwa CMT is looking for a Head of Geo-Environmental to manage our Geo-Environmental department. In this role, you\’ll ensure profitable and efficient delivery across all work streams relating to testing and analysis for ground investigation, waste assessments, and other geo-environmental testing services. This role is based at our offices in Derby. Kiwa is a global leader in Testing, Inspection and Certification. Our company motto is we create trust. We want you to trust us in becoming your employer of choice. About the role Supervise daily laboratory and site services, ensuring efficient and profitable operations. Communicate effectively with departmental staff and management to support overall performance. Prepare and monitor departmental budgets, collating KPIs and taking action to maintain or improve results. Recruit, train, and develop staff, fostering a proactive and supportive team culture. Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering value-added guidance and support. Have an input in conjunction with company management and Sales staff to achieve development, growth/expansion of business via new client and business opportunities. Preparing quotations/proposals and supporting this process in other departments as necessary. Preparing specialist testing reports and authorising the issue of reports. Ensure compliance with UKAS, ISO 17025, and Kiwa’s quality standards, including QA/QC processes and internal audits. Champion health, safety, and environmental policies, ensuring operations align with legal frameworks and industry standards. Do you have what it takes? Strong understanding of legal frameworks and requirements, along with excellent technical skills and extensive knowledge of ground investigation, contaminated land, waste testing, and materials testing and assessment. Degree in Geology or Environmental Chemistry (desirable). Familiarity with health and safety policies, including RAMS and PPE requirements. Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills. Positive, motivated, and professional outlook. Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional travel with overnight stays. Hold full UK driving licence.
