Full-Time Rural Professional Secretary Office based role at the Exeter Livestock Centre.

Are you an organised, proactive and personable administrator looking for a varied role within a respected rural business? We are seeking an enthusiastic Rural Professional Secretary to join our team based at the Exeter Livestock Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of our Rural Professional and Farms & Land departments, supporting a team of experienced property and land professionals in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. Every day is different, offering a unique blend of secretarial, administrative and client-facing responsibilities within the rural and agricultural sector.

About the Role: As a key member of our team, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the office. You will provide professional secretarial and administrative support to our Rural Professional and Farms & Land departments, helping to deliver an excellent service to clients while working alongside a friendly and supportive team. The successful candidate may also have the opportunity to provide administrative support at our busy livestock market on Mondays and Fridays, gaining valuable exposure to the agricultural sector.

Key Responsibilities: Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing and formatting letters, reports, valuations and presentations from both audio and non-audio dictation
  • Providing comprehensive support to the Rural Professional and Farms & Land teams
  • Managing diaries, appointments, valuations and client bookings
  • Dealing professionally with telephone and email enquiries
  • Arranging viewings and processing valuation requests
  • Maintaining accurate filing systems, records and accounts administration
  • Undertaking research on behalf of Rural Chartered Surveyors and Land Agents
  • Managing office correspondence and general administration
  • Ensuring compliance with company procedures and legal requirements, including GDPR and anti-money laundering regulations
  • Assisting other departments, including our Auctions team, when required
  • Supporting the smooth running and organisation of the office environment

About You: We are looking for someone who is:

  • Confident working independently as well as part of a team
  • Proactive, adaptable and quick to learn
  • Calm and efficient under pressure
  • A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Previous secretarial or administrative experience
  • Fast and accurate typing speed of at least 50 words per minute
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and use initiative

Desirable: An interest in, or knowledge of, agriculture and the rural sector. Experience working in a professional office environment.

Working Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 8:45am to 5:30pm. Bank Holiday working may be required.
