Kitson Associates is excited to share a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant ready to step up or an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing region in Staffordshire. This role will report to the Commercial Manager.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Produce, manage, and forecast build costs, oversee sub-contract procurement, payments, and valuations.
  • Lead the tendering process, procure subcontractors, and oversee the payment process, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
  • Maintain overall budget oversight, manage cost overruns within contingency levels, and obtain approvals for variations exceeding budget limits.
  • Stay up to date with construction materials and methods while ensuring compliance with regulations, codes of practice, and NHBC/LABC requirements.
  • Support site management in reviewing subcontractor performance as needed.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor, within housebuilding or residential developments, Min 2 years (UK experience essential)
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with attention to detail in budgeting and valuations.
  • Ability to remain composed under pressure with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in IT systems within a commercial environment.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
