We're working with a growing engineering consultancy specialising in highways, transport planning, and infrastructure projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Senior Design Engineer to join their Birmingham team.

The Role
- Leading the design and delivery of highway and infrastructure projects
- Managing projects to programme and budget requirements
- Overseeing resource allocation and supporting junior team members
- Producing and reviewing technical reports, drawings, and design information
- Ensuring designs comply with DMRB, MCHW, and local design standards
- Coordinating with Local Authorities, statutory bodies, and key stakeholders
- Supporting projects across multiple offices and disciplines
- Managing risk and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and CDM Regulations
- Encouraging innovation and continuous improvement within the team
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience delivering Section 278 and Section 38 highway projects
- Strong technical knowledge within highways and infrastructure design
- Previous experience managing and mentoring design teams
- Proven project management experience delivering projects to programme and budget
- Experience using Causeway Flow PDS and Civils 3D
- Strong working knowledge of DMRB and highway technical standards
- Confident communicator with strong leadership abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects within a fast-paced consultancy environment
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Experience preparing cost estimates
- Membership with a relevant Chartered Institute
