We’re working with a growing engineering consultancy specialising in highways, transport planning, and infrastructure projects across the UK.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Design Engineer to join their Birmingham team.
The Role
- Supporting the design and delivery of highway and infrastructure projects
- Ensuring projects are delivered to programme and budget requirements
- Producing and reviewing technical drawings, reports, and design information
- Assisting with Section 278 and Section 38 highway schemes
- Ensuring designs comply with DMRB, MCHW, and local design standards
- Liaising with Local Authorities, statutory bodies, and external stakeholders
- Supporting project delivery across multiple disciplines and offices
- Assisting with risk management and compliance with Health & Safety and CDM Regulations
- Contributing to continuous improvement and innovative design solutions
- The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working on Section 278 and Section 38 highway projects
- Strong technical knowledge within highways and infrastructure design
- Experience delivering projects to programme and budget
- Strong understanding of DMRB and highway technical standards
- Working knowledge of Civils 3D CAD software
- Confident communicator with strong organisational skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Experience advising clients on technical highway matters
- Full UK driving licence preferred
