About Kitsch
Kitsch is a bootstrapped, female and minority‑owned global beauty brand built on the belief that great design and great values aren’t mutually exclusive. From hair accessories to sleep and wellness, we create products that make people feel good — and we’ve grown to $400M+ in annual revenue by staying true to that mission. We move fast, we care deeply about craft, and we’re looking for people who feel the same way.
The Role
Kitsch is entering the EU market with a Fall 2027 launch, and this is the role that makes it happen.
Job Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end execution of Kitsch’s Fall 2027 EU retail launch — range confirmation, compliance documentation, logistics coordination, on-floor readiness, and first sell-through reporting.
- Ensure all Kitsch products entering the EU market meet EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 — including CPNP notification, responsible person designation, ingredient labeling, and safety assessment documentation.
- Proactively manage the EU compliance calendar so nothing holds up launch timelines; work cross-functionally with Kitsch’s product and regulatory teams.
- Build and maintain trusted, productive relationships with EU retail buying and category teams — be known by name, respected as a commercial partner, and positioned to access incremental placement opportunities.
- Drive revenue growth post-launch through SKU expansion, new promotional programs, and identification of additional international opportunities — depth over breadth.
- Track retail sell-through data actively and flag underperformance before it becomes a markdown conversation; execute promotional programs on the retail calendar and manage margin exposure.
- Serve as Kitsch’s eyes and ears in the EU beauty market — deliver a monthly EU market brief covering competitive intelligence, trend shifts, regulatory updates, and retail landscape changes with a clear point of view.
- Own the operational health of all EU accounts — retailer portal compliance, OTIF performance, chargeback management, and DC coordination.
- Maintain tight alignment with Nicole and Kitsch’s US-based teams despite the time zone gap — operate with high autonomy while escalating decisions that affect brand positioning, pricing, or channel strategy.
- Actively use AI tools to accelerate account analysis, compliance tracking, buyer communication, and market reporting; build efficiency into every repeatable workflow.
What We’re Looking For
- Prior experience working with major EU retailers as a retail buyer contact or vendor-side account manager — knowledge of their compliance requirements, buying processes, and promotional machinery is required, not preferred.
- Demonstrable knowledge of EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 — CPNP notification, responsible person requirements, ingredient labeling, and claim substantiation; haircare-specific experience strongly preferred.
- Must be available and operating during CET/CEST business hours — EU retail partners and regulatory bodies do not operate on US time.
- Strong retail commercial acumen — reads a P&L at the account level, understands distribution, velocity, turns, and margin without being prompted.
- Proven ability to build buyer relationships that go beyond transactional — knows when to push, when to hold, and how to earn trust over time.
- Highly autonomous operator who works independently across a time zone gap without going dark — makes smart decisions within authority and escalates the right things at the right time.
- Analytically rigorous — builds a point of view from sell-through data, margin analysis, and retail performance reporting, not just instinct.
- Effective cross-cultural communicator — operates across EU market environments without losing the Kitsch brand voice.
- Operationally disciplined — retail portal deadlines, compliance submissions, and chargeback responses owned and executed without reminders.
- Active AI fluency — uses tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or Perplexity to accelerate real work; builds new skills continuously and applies them without waiting to be trained.
