A major financial markets business is hiring a Head of Investment & Collateral Management to lead the commercial investment of cash balances and oversee the firm's collateral management function.

The role

You will own the daily commercial investment of substantial cash balances into HQLA, executed through tri-party arrangements with major global custodians. This is a hands-on investment role — you'll be accountable for the P&L generated by the book, the relationships with investment agents and counterparties, and the strategy for maximising return within a prudent risk framework. Alongside the investment mandate, you will lead the collateral management function — overseeing the systems, processes and controls that underpin liquidity and intraday cash movement.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the daily investment of cash into HQLA, primarily via reverse repo
  • Own the investment P&L and deliver against commercial targets
  • Manage relationships with investment agents, custodians and key service providers
  • Oversee the collateral management platform and associated operational processes
  • Ensure liquidity is available across business-as-usual and stress scenarios
  • Lead the team; set strategy, manage performance, develop talent
  • Partner with Risk, Finance, Compliance and Technology on cross-functional initiatives
  • Act as first line of defence for investment and collateral risk

What we're looking for

  • Significant experience in repo / reverse repo markets — either trading, structuring, or as a senior buy-side user of the market
  • Strong existing relationships across the repo counterparty landscape
  • Technical depth in collateral, liquidity management or treasury investment
  • Background from a bank securities financing or repo desk, bank ALM / treasury markets, custodian, or buy-side cash / liquidity management team
  • Familiarity with the UK / EU regulatory environment relevant to large financial markets firms
  • Proven leader with experience running a team and managing senior stakeholders
  • Commercial mindset with respect for control, governance and risk

What's on offer

A rare opportunity to step into a senior, strategic seat at a globally significant financial markets business. Real ownership of a commercial book, a meaningful team, and visibility to executive leadership. SVP-grade package. Applications in strict confidence to Nathan Fuller, Kite Human Capital.
